Dave Spitzer
Dave Spitzer leads the Center for Motorsports Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his own Consulting business in Port Orange. After 14 years at GM Racing developing engines that won the Indy 500 and performed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he was recruited as VP of Competition for NASCAR’s sports car racing division (IMSA) which brought him to Daytona Beach. Other current assignments at ERAU include the EcoCAR 3 hybrid vehicle program, developing a new wind tunnel facility, teaching in the College of Business, and advising tech startup spinouts. Spitzer is a Certified Trainer for Startup Quest, and a mentor in the NSF iCorps program using the proven Lean Startup methodology. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Walsh College in the Detroit metro area.
